The 8% spandex fiber gives stretch crepe a bit more structure than regular crepe de chine. It is the same on the face and back, is opaque, has a slight sheen, and is great for making garments. It’s ideal for lining fabric when you want your lining to have stretch capability in the cross grain. Dry clean to preserve its original surface; hand washing gives the fabric slightly more structure and some sewers find it is then easier to handle and sew.
Be sure to read our note below about color before placing an order. The minimum order is 1 yard. When you click “add to cart,” you will be able to select which color you would like from a drop-down menu that will appear. Add the total number of full yards that you would like to your cart, then, if desired, add a half yard to your cart. If you order multiple yards / half yards of one silk type and color, it will come as one piece.

Stretch silks are available in a limited selection of colors on the woven silk color card; separate color cards are not available for the stretch fabrics. The image above displays only those colors available for stretch fabrics simply for ease of reference. You can still use the woven color card to match the colors for stretch fabrics, just be aware of the limited selection.
