Bone fabric-marking tool
This beautifully crafted tool provides a different way to make markings on fabric. Simply hold the handle, and run the narrow edge along the fabric's surface with a slight to moderate amount of pressure, and you will see a scored line in the fabric (see the arrows in the photo). Since this line is permanent, I recommend that you experiment on a scrap piece of fabric to determine how much pressure you want to use, and mark your intended line(s) with accuracy and care. With many fabrics, you can mark two layers at one time.
The name originates in Japan. A "hera" was a spatula-shaped tool used in Japanese sword making, and lots of Samurai swords were made during the Edo period.
