Store Policies


Online Payment Policy:

All customers have the option to pay with a credit card, or Apple Pay. If you are an international customer be sure to read our international shipping charge policy below.


Return Policy:

When ordering products, especially silk fabrics, note that most computer monitors do not display colors 100% accurately. All images, including color card images, are intended to be a reference, not a color matching guide. Note that color #295 is black. If you are unsure of what color to order, please purchase a color card or use Sarah's color matching service. Returns will not be accepted if you order the wrong color fabric.

If there are any problems with your order, please contact the store manager, Marcie, immediately by phone (410-459-3942) or email (marcie@sarahveblen.com). We offer very high quality goods and check all fabric for flaws. While fabrics are generally not returnable, if your fabric is flawed or damaged, or you are shipped the wrong type or color of silk or interfacing, we will issue a full refund after we have received the returned fabric and verify the flaw/damage or mistake.


Shipping Times:

All orders are mailed through USPS, and we do our very best to ship orders quickly. After placing an order, you can expect notions, shoulder pads, interfacings and silk orders of at least 4 yards to arrive within 3-8 business days. Silk orders under 4 yards will be placed with our supplier once a week, every Monday at 10am Eastern Time, and you can expect such orders to arrive 5-8 business days later. If you need a small-yardage order expedited, please contact Marcie (marcie@sarahveblen.com) directly. If you order multiple items, all items will be shipped together. You will be sent an email when your order is shipped.

All packages are shipped via USPS. Shipments over 15 oz. are shipped Priority. Arrangements can be made for expedited shipping, having your fabric shipped on a tube, or shipping via UPS - please contact Marcie directly (marcie@sarahveblen.com).


Shipping Fees:

Shipping fees for most store items are based on weight, and for orders shipped within the United States the total shipping cost will be calculated in your cart when you check out. Swatches and color cards have shipping built into their price so you will not be charged additional shipping for these items.

For silk fabrics, interfacings, and trims we have attempted to establish a fee schedule that closely reflects our actual shipping costs:

Silk Fabric Shipping Fees:
1 to 2-1/2 yards — $8.00
3 to 4-1/2 yards — $12.00
5 to 7-1/2 yards — $15.00
8 to 10-1/2 yards — $18.00
Over 11 yards — $20.00

Interfacing Shipping Fees:
1 yard — $5.00
1-1/2 to 6 yards — $8.00
6-1/2 to 10 yards — $12.00
10-1/2 to 14-1/2 yards — $15.00
15 to 22 yards — $18.00
Over 22-1/2 yards — $20.00

Trim Shipping Fees:
1 to 2 trims — $5.00
3 to 4 trims — $8.00
5 to 6 trims -- $10.00


International Orders:

International shipping fees have increased significantly over the last few years.

BEFORE you place an International Order, please contact Marcie (marcie@sarahveblen.com) with the store items you would like to order. She will calculate the international shipping and handling fee and let you know what it would be.

We’ve had many people cancel their order once they are aware of the shipping and handling fee. By getting the price of the fee prior to placing the order, we hope it saves both you and us the steps and inconvenience of refunding a canceled order.

International orders are shipped via USPS International First Class (Air Mail). Shipping times vary depending on your location. International shipping charges are NOT charged at the time you place your order. Once your order is received, the store manager will get an exact shipping cost from the post office, add a $8 handling charge, and email you an Invoice for the shipping total. This invoice will have a link to a payment page that will allow you to pay the shipping fee with a credit card.

The postal service has added a new Prepay Duties and Taxes fee option. This fee will also be calculated and sent with your invoice. If you choose not to pay the Prepay Duties and Taxes fee when invoiced, email Marcie at marcie@sarahveblen.com. She will remove the extra duty fee from your invoice.
