Since I'm often asked for pattern recommendations, I offer patterns that I have fit on a number of body types and sizes and feel are well drafted. I've provided a little information about each pattern. I will be adding other patterns as I come across them!

Eureka! Pants that Fit

In 2012, Sarah helped Fit For Art Patterns develop a unique pant pattern that truly fits - Eureka!

As anyone who has attempted to sew a pair of pants knows, constructing pants is quite easy, but getting the pants to fit your body properly is a big challenge. In response to this problem, and after many hours of research fittings, Sarah has helped to develop the Eureka! Pants.

Eureka! Pants That Fit

This pattern features one front with three different backs for each size in order to accommodate different body shapes, allowing you to find the pants shape that most closely matches your body. Additionally, the pattern includes a detailed booklet on how to further fine-tune the fit of your pant and provides many construction tips.

Classic French Jacket

This is an excellent jacket pattern with shoulder princess seams, which is one of the most flattering styles for everyone. And in my experience, it's one of the easiest styles to fit.

The shoulders and upper torso are realistically proportionate to the bust and hip. And because of the way the side front and side back are graded, it's easy to make the shoulder seams narrower at the armhole without throwing the rest of the jacket out of proportion. The three-piece sleeve is a dream, incorporating a seam down the center of the arm, which as many of you know is my go-to sleeve style in terms of developing a sleeve cap that doesn't have too much ease for the armhole opening.

With so many sizes, it's easy to blend from one size to another if you're proportionately larger on the top or on the bottom, or need more room in the waist. Note that the pattern has no seam allowances, and meets at center front. It's a great starting place for a princess line master pattern, so you can develop your own necklines and other details. You can even extend the length and fit it as a dress.

Classic French Jacket

Includes all sizes:
4-14 & 16-24

Please note that this product contains only a jacket pattern and does not include instructions, which allows you to use it for any type of jacket you want to create. However, for this reason, I don't recommend it for beginner jacket sewers.
